As Chief Executive Officer of Allambi Care, Simon Walsh leads with compassion, curiosity and a deep-rooted belief in people. Under the guidance of the Board of Directors, he works closely with a high-performing executive team to shape the organisation’s strategic direction, governance, leadership, and culture. His focus is on ensuring that the conditions are right - both in practice and culture - for meaningful, high-impact work to flourish.
Simon’s journey with Allambi began in 1998, when he joined initially as a volunteer. With a background in nursing and a family legacy of foster care, Simon saw the potential to bring his skills into the out-of-home care space and quickly became immersed in frontline roles. From early work in homelessness services to key operational positions across the organisation, Simon has built his leadership on hands-on experience and continuous learning. His long tenure at Allambi Care reflects not only personal commitment but an enduring belief in the power of service and community.
Driven by optimism and a steadfast trust in people, relationship-building is key to Simon’s approach - navigating the emotional and human complexities of the work with a steady, hopeful presence. He believes that when the right people are empowered in the right culture, anything is possible. His leadership is marked by a relentless pursuit of improvement and a passion for evolving systems to better serve those in need.
The most memorable thing is seeing the people we support happy, connected, and with a sense of belonging. That’s what this work is about.
Over the decades, Simon has witnessed the full arc of impact - walking alongside children as they grow into adulthood and continue to thrive. That longevity and perspective fuel his sense of purpose.
Outside of work, Simon is happiest spending time with his family camping and connecting with others.
