- Medical doctor with an MB BCh BAO from the National University of Ireland (1976).
- Served as a General Practitioner with Allambi Care from 2014–2020.
- Worked as a General Practitioner from 1977–1989 across Rockhampton, Burnie, Cobar, Townsville and Lismore.
- Joined Hunter New England Health’s mental health services in 1990 and remained until 2018.
- Completed psychiatry training within Hunter Mental Health Services.
- Held senior clinical leadership roles including Medical Superintendent, Manager of Medical Services and Acting Director of Mental Health Services.
- Part of an executive-level team structure for approximately 30 years, contributing to planning and oversight of mental health service delivery.
- Provided clinical and psychiatric care within mental health settings throughout his career.
- Brings extensive experience in medical leadership, clinical service delivery, general practice and mental health care.
